This week marks the one-year anniversary of most Silicon Valley companies sending their employees to work from home due to the pandemic. In that time we’ve learned a lot – like how to work from home with a house full of people (or dogs), how to make bread, and how many steps it takes to get from the couch to the refrigerator. Businesses too learned many lessons this year. It’s fairly safe to say that the enterprises that were behind the curve on digital transformation had a hard lesson about why they need modern, flexible IT that enables them to be anywhere at any time.
While this lesson may have been highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is certainly not exclusive to it. Enterprises today need to be able to support a distributed workforce, customers and partners. They also need to quickly react to market changes and new competition and be ready to rapidly respond to weather, health and even political events.
A hybrid or multi cloud strategy is well-suited for enterprise flexibility as it enables organizations to maximize their existing on-premises investments and provides flexibility for future expansion – geographically or via M&A. But let’s face it, hybrid cloud can be messy and fast-moving enterprises need to trust that their data is accessible when and where they need it.
There is a clear market need for a management platform that works with any cloud, check out what 451 Research has to say in, “The Case For an Infrastructure Agnostic Hybrid IT and Multi-Cloud Data Platform Layer.”
This is where Diamanti comes in to simplify the transition with our Ultima Data Plane for hybrid cloud. It delivers cloud-native data services with the only integrated networking and storage data plane solution that can extend across on-premises and cloud-based environments, supporting any Kubernetes cluster distribution.
