Diamanti Spektra 3.0 GA: Ready for Enterprise Hybrid Clouds

Today we reach an important milestone. We are excited to announce the general availability of Diamanti Spektra 3.0. This release addresses the challenges enterprises and managed service providers (MSPs) encounter while expanding Kubernetes implementations across on-premises and cloud environments. Diamanti Spektra 3.0 truly helps organizations to “break from legacy architectures” and easily manage large-scale, multi-cluster Kubernetes deployments.

Below is an overview of the highlights of this release.

Multi-Cluster Management and Hybrid Cloud Flexibility

With Diamanti Spektra 3.0, users can provision, attach and manage Kubernetes clusters hosted in the data center, at the edge or in the cloud through a single control plane. Diamanti Spektra currently supports Microsoft Azure and will expand to support additional cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform in the upcoming releases.

Secure Multi-Tenancy and User Management

Diamanti Spektra introduces the concept of ‘Domains’,‘Tenants’ and ‘Projects’ that extends basic Kubernetes resource controls to support some of the most complex organizations as they broaden their adoption of Kubernetes. Users can reserve capacity (CPU and memory) for different projects within a tenant as well as limit resources for containers to ensure efficient management of resources.

Diamanti Spektra provides the ability to manage user permissions on cluster resources based on role-based access control (RBAC) policies. Roles can be defined within a project or cluster-wide. Users can also be authenticated via LDAP and Active Directory (AD) and authorization is granted to different Kubernetes clusters based on roles – Service Provider, Tenant Administrator, Project Administrator, Project Member and Project Viewer.

Complete Application Lifecycle Management

Diamanti Spektra delivers the flexibility to deploy stateless and stateful applications to the most appropriate infrastructure driven by multiple factors such as cost, security, performance requirements, and geography. With Diamanti Spektra, enterprises can focus on the application without having to worry about infrastructure availability and performance. Enterprises can protect their stateful applications with integrated support for application replication and migration to another cluster on-premises or in the cloud. They can also set up disaster recovery policies with application and data persistence across sites with just a click of a button.
